Shared process

This process serves both disciplines. The controlled procedure belongs to IDM's ISO 9001 system. The welding system references it and adds only what welding requires on top.

Welding non-conformances are raised on the welding NCR form and controlled under QP03. There is no separate welding non-conformance system.

What the welding system adds on top of QP03:

  • The disposition on a welding NCR is authorised by the RWC, not by IDM management
  • Weld repairs are made only to an approved repair procedure — IDM does not currently hold one
  • Where the weld was made by the internal Welding Coordinator, the investigation goes to the RWC
  • Recall of completed items is considered under QP10

Where it needs maturing

Confirm welding NCRs actually reach the QP03 register rather than being handled informally on the shop floor, and that QP03 recognises the RWC's disposition authority.

Controlled copy. The controlled master of every document in this system is the file held on the IDM server in the welding management system folder structure. This portal is a controlled view of it. Where the two differ, the server file governs.
