Welding management system

BS EN ISO 3834-2 (core) · BS EN 1090-1/-2 (structural, EXC2) · BS EN 15085-2 (rail, CL2)

Assessed by TWI Certification as a single coordinated programme. The ISO 3834-2 core is built once; the 1090 and 15085 layers bolt onto it. Nothing is duplicated across the three standards.

Why this is separate from ISO 9001

Different certificate, different scope, different auditor requirements. A welder qualification, a WPQR and a weld map have no ISO 9001 equivalent and never will.

Why it is not fully separate

Document control, internal audit, non-conformance, competence and management review are the same processes serving both disciplines. The welding manual references IDM's existing procedures for these rather than writing a second set. See Shared.

Controlled copy. The controlled master of every document in this system is the file held on the IDM server in the welding management system folder structure. This portal is a controlled view of it. Where the two differ, the server file governs.
