The schedule to be attached to the commercial agreement between IDM Engineering (Chester) Ltd and Axis NDT for Responsible Welding Coordinator services. The certification body will test whether the external appointment carries real authority and real availability — this schedule is the evidence that it does.
| Requirement | To be agreed |
|---|---|
| 1. Appointment | Named individual appointed as RWC. The service is not transferable without IDM's written agreement and a fresh competence verification. |
| 2. Competence | Comprehensive technical knowledge (IWE/EWE or equivalent) covering all materials in scope, evidenced before the appointment takes effect and maintained throughout. |
| 3. Authority | Authority to approve every task marked A in Annex A, and to stop production where welding requirements are not met, without requiring IDM management approval. |
| 4. Committed availability | [days or hours per month] |
| 5. Response times | Routine referral: [ ] working days. Production hold: [ ] hours. |
| 6. Attendance | Minimum on-site attendance per [period], and attendance at certification body audits and surveillance visits. |
| 7. Deputy / cover | Named deputy, their competence evidence, and the tasks they may and may not discharge. |
| 8. Escalation | Route into IDM where a response time is not met, and the named IDM position that escalation reaches. |
| 9. Records | All RWC decisions given in writing and recorded in the welding activity log. Verbal decisions confirmed in writing before work proceeds. |
| 10. Conflict of interest | Axis NDT provides both RWC services and sub-contract NDT. The arrangement for managing that overlap is stated, including who verifies NDT performed by Axis NDT. |
| 11. Notice | Notice period on either side, and the handover required on termination so that certification is not placed at risk. |
| 12. Insurance | Professional indemnity appropriate to the responsibility carried. |
Item 10 is a real issue, not a formality. Axis NDT supplies IDM's RWC and IDM's NDT. Under that arrangement the RWC would be approving inspection carried out by his own organisation. The certification body will ask how that is managed — agree the answer before they do.
