Annex B — Organisation¶
The welding organisation, the responsibility allocation and the reporting line for welding coordination are maintained in WMS-A-03/04, Welding Organisation and Responsibility Allocation — derived from IDM company structure IDM31 Rev 9 of 27 July 2026. They are not restated here, because a second copy of an organisation chart is a second copy to keep current.
Open WMS-A-03/04 — Welding Organisation and Responsibility
That document carries the named post-holders, the welding role each one holds, the notes on the allocation, and the reporting line showing that the Responsible Welding Coordinator's authority runs to the internal coordinator and to the General Manager rather than through the production line.
What is still outstanding¶
The organisation cannot be settled until four things are confirmed by IDM. Each is recorded as
[TBC] in WMS-A-03/04 and none is CRGI's to decide:
| Outstanding | Position |
|---|---|
| Internal Welding Coordinator | The role performs twelve of the twenty essential tasks in Annex A. CRGI recommends C. Moulton, Fab Shop Foreman. An apprentice cannot hold it. |
| Deputy welding coordinator | Not yet nominated. BS EN 15085-2 expects cover for the coordination function. |
| H&S and Compliance Manager | Vacant since 2021. Annex A task B.20 currently has no holder, and it was that departure that left welding coordination dormant. |
| Quality Manager | No Quality Manager appears on IDM31 Rev 9. The QP procedures referenced throughout this manual need an owner. |
Manual revision note
The controlled Word copy of IDM-FPC-WQM-001 still carries this annex as a placeholder reading "organogram to be inserted". It should be replaced with the cross-reference above at the next manual revision, alongside the other outstanding front-matter items. Until then the Word copy and this page differ, and WMS-A-03/04 governs either way.
